TOKEN2049 Dubai: The NodeOps Gaze

On April 18 and 19 2024, Dubai saw the one crypto event of the year to end them all - TOKEN2049. Renowned and green faces from all over the web3 world converged to get you walking the digital and decentralized road for the ultimate financial freedom. NodeOps was in attendance, you bet, and we made golden memories with our partners and fellow blockchain enthusiasts. Allow us to take you through it!

TOKEN2049 highlights, through the NodeOps lens

To start with, there were over 10,000 attendees. More than 4,000 companies came together to network, and there were 200+ speakers and another 200+ exhibitors; TOKEN2049 definitely continues to awe as a one-of-a-kind event.

The NodeOps team had the opportunity to meet a very vibrant group of builders in the blockchain space, trying their hands at something new every day and addressing existing pain points- from scalability to web3 accessibility for developers and users alike. The most eminent of crypto personalities were in attendance- it was one star-studded show to be sure.

The M20 Chain’s MCard happened to be one of the most talked about product launches. The card aims to bridge the divide between digital assets and everyday transactions, allowing users to convert their crypto into fiat hassle-free across millions of locations around the world. Products like MCard are all set to make crypto a mainstream medium of exchange, which makes crypto proponents like us super excited for the future!

The thrill of meeting like-minded founders across numerous sectors of the blockchain industry was unmatched, and we had the lucky opportunity to chat with several of our existing partners as well!

To name just a few:

We met Aethir, a cloud computing infrastructure platform that invites those with underused and unused GPU power to distribute to end users around the world. EigenLayer too- which brings restaking capabilities for ETH stakers, so they can use their staked ETH to provide security to applications called Actively Validated Services or AVSs, where restakers have the opportunity to earn additional protocol rewards on top of their ETH staking earnings.

The list runs long - we also met our up and coming partners Manta and Babylon, the first bringing AI and ZKP powered blockchain games and the latter allowing Bitcoin staking to secure the PoS economy. There was Polygon, the layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum running alongside the main chain and tackling transactions to ease off Ethereum’s slack at a lower fee too. Not to forget Circle, the stablecoin network.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Monad, a layer 1 scaling solution for Ethereum. There were Gunzilla, Zircuit, AltLayer, and SSV too- with the first involved in blockchain games, the second a ZK rollup with parallelized circuits and AI-powered security at the sequencer level, the third providing easy launch of native and restaked rollups with optimistic and ZK rollup stacks, and the final bringing a platform for developers to easily deploy, scale, and decentralize staking applications on Ethereum.

Across all these partners, NodeOps allows one-click node deployment for nodes that serve a wide range of purposes. All you have to do is navigate to the NodeOps Console and sign up with your email ID, and you’ll have the option to run a node across these platforms . Simply connect your blockchain wallet, fill in your info, choose the duration you want to keep the node running for, pay the fee, and your node should get synced and running soon!

Domains of interest for NodeOps

TOKEN2049 has also made us interested in a few notable arenas in the blockchain and relevant technology sphere. Here’s a quick run-down of what we consider of significance:

  • DePINs: Messari ran a Twitter poll back in 2022, asking a name for web3 physical infrastructure. DePIN or decentralized physical infrastructure networks was the name the audience most liked.

Messari names DePIN

DePINs are basically networks that incentivize a group of users to share physical infrastructure in their possession for usage in a particular industry, which the end users can use by joining the blockchain and making transactions with a native token. The Aethir mentioned above- who happens to be one of our partners- has a DePIN stack active, for example, for users to share unused GPU power and earn rewards. NodeOps can potentially facilitate running nodes in such networks, esepically as the concept of DePIN is being noticed for its real-world value and currently enjoying its time in the spotlight.

  • AI: Yet another sector in the limelight, AI innovations have been ongoing for decades and touched incredible highs, but the grassroots level audience is noting the power of AI to a greater extent recently with the popularity of generative AI. The AI crypto space is poised to bring brand new and disruptive use cases, as is already witnessed with the popularity of protocols like Render and The Graph. NodeOps takes an interest in this area as our inherent mechanisms also combine elements of AI, and we believe we can help the AI-blockchain ecosystem grow.

  • Blockchain gaming infrastructure: As is prominent in our partnerships with protocols like XAI, we are eager to participate in the growing blockchain gaming ecosystem. Any such infrastructure is keen for easy deployment of nodes so they can reach out to a larger group of audience- we will be excited to have a chat!

  • EigenLayer AVSs: Any EigenLayer AVS looking for restakers, we’re more than happy to rise up to the challenge!

And that was our journey and takeaway related to TOKEN2049 Dubai, all summed up!
